RDS-CAA approach distance

I have a Sprectrum III machine with RDS-CAA head. When I try to do fitting position with the masterprobe, the retract/approach distance is so much that the machine hits the overtravel limits. Same thing when I manually create the different angles, the probe goes far from the probeing surface. Is there a option that is not well configuered?

Is this a first time setup, or a change in behavior?

What is the Radius of your Reference Sphere listed as in the Probing System Qualification window?

I recently started in inspection and they never used the RCA-CAA option before. The sphere radius is 0.5906in (15.00124mm) Everything works as it should with a star probe.

I know I am late to this particular conversation, but it sounds like it thought that the MasterProbe had a very large radius. You can reset it, like you did, or otherwise just go into the stylus system management window and change the radius to "0" manually.
