[Ri...]
I have several parts (3D as Grown or Chem Milled) that require CAD Presentations. This slows down the calculations at the end of the program in some instances adding about 20 minutes to a run time. I have noticed all of the CAD Presentations create a temporary graphic to display. Are there any settings that can help speed up this process? I do need the presentation in the PiWeb report, I don't need it to flash on the screan. [To...]
I would venture to guess that since it needs to do a screen capture, there's no option to eliminate it. I do notice that using cylinders vs points on CAD evaluation takes longer because it takes more graphics horsepower to draw cylinders than points. I don't know if spheres affect the time in the same manner. Edited February
[Ri...]
Well, it seems once you create the presentation, you can't change the presentation. 🤨 I have tried turning off the presentation, close/save the program. Open the program and its back on again. I have tried changing from Spheres to Points and it automatically goes back to Spheres. (Close/save, exit calypso. restart calypso, open program and all the original presentation settings are back to what I initially setup). Man, I do not want to remake 40 presentations...🤐 Side note: I use Spheres due to actual surface condition. If I have a profile of .060, I use a sphere size of .060 +.010 (Or more). This allows the color gradient show on the intended feature even if the material is on the high to over the limits.

What i am doing is - open characteristic, click presentation button to open that window and click "Plot" button. This will set view with everything else. Then make edits ( like changing from cylinders to spheres, magnification and so on ). Then open CAD -> Views -> Save view - i don't recall what popups next, but you just select or write name of that view. This will rewrite that. Also on my version i can not get plots working until i click that "Plot" button. Edited February
[To...]
I don't know if changing to points will speed up your particular issue. Edited February
[Cl...]
Have you thought about maybe using Snipping Tool instead?

[Cl...]
Unless I'm not understanding the problem. Snipping tool is used to capture screen-shots. The complaint is that the CAD presentation takes too long? If all you need is a visual to either send to the customer or give to the machinist so he/she can make adjustments Edited February
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I thought you meant the Snipping Tool could be used by Calypso. In some reports where profiles are required, they want to see an image of the feature on the report following the Profile result (That is what PiWeb and CAD Presentation does).
