[Mi...]
We've recently made the switch to PiWeb templates from the Custom reporting and there's one nagging thing I haven't found. Can I control the name of the file that gets sent to the printer? This is the same name that shows up in the printer queue We use a software called Fineprint to condense the printouts and save paper. With the custom printout, it received the program name, with the PiWeb printout it only gets the name of the ptx file you used, and since we use the same ptx file this name is useless. See below, there's one result that still uses the Custom Report, the rest are PiWeb: I know I can use Calypso to save a PDF with whatever name I like, I have done that and have tried getting people to find old reports that way, but to get the printout to look like what they are used to they have to open it in the PDF viewer, then print to Fineprint.... Converting entire factories is hard.
[La...]
Michael, are they saving these manually to FinePrint? Does it act as a physical printer emulator (like Microsoft PRint to PDF for example) or does it come up as an option when you Print to PDF in PiWeb? FinePrint is a printer emulator so in windows you set it as your default printer then tell Calypso to use the Windows default printer, these files are part of an AutoSave it creates. I tried real hard to convince people to use the other path that saves the PDFs with good names and all the relevant header info, but they like FinePrint... I could just turn off the Autosave and force the PDF way... but if I can control that name that'll keep the most people happy.
