[Ed...]
Hello, Is there any way to create an RPS Alignment of grey value features before measuring the part? Sometimes I need to create a program offline so I can't perform the measurement step
[Be...]
Hi, you can plan a RPS alignment offline but of course you can't compute it. Create a nominal circle, apply the 'Measuring principle' 'Grayvalue Feature' and use these nominal elements as input for the RPS alignment (do not forget to plan an appropriate 'Initial alignment' before you apply the 'Measuring principles'). [Ed...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hello, Bernd Thank you for your comment. I tried as you said but it doesn't allow me to accept it. The part is pre aligned. Am I missing something?
[Ja...]
I recall this issue..if my memory serves i had 2 workarounds for offline programming requiring RPS on grey features: 1. Create nominal elements , do no apply meas principle straight away , create RPS , apply meas principle afterwards 2. Create nominal elements , apply meas principle 'copy as actual element' , create RPS. Then have to remember to change the measuring principle to grey value hope my memory is correct! [Be...]
Hi, quite hard to judge, I can only imagine one scenario: You have already a mesh in your project which is not complete?! Furthermore you haven't collected enough measurement data to calculate gray value features, In this case you are not allowed to make any "planning" for the RPS and we are checking if the RPS-Rules (nominal elements with a measuring principle) could calculate their actual data If this happens in your project delete your mesh (temporarily) for the creation of the RPS (Copy and paste of the mesh places it in the clipboard where you can move it again afterwards in the part). The workaround from James could also work but it's a little bit dangerous if you forget to exchange the very special measuring principle 'copy as actual element': You would get semantically wrong values because you would calculate the "wrong" actual values. If my suggestion does not work you have to contact your local ZEISS support (we need to investigate your special project why this is not working). [Ed...]
Hello, Thank you! The reason for that is to spend more time creating the program offline and let the online part for measurement to optimize the machine utilization. Thanks James, I'll try to use these two methods.
