Position of Coaxial Cylinders

I have 2 inline cylinders with the following notation.  Any thoughts on the lower tier? Di I create a position of cylinderC to cylinderD and then vice versa?

I would have preferred to see each cylinder have a datum reference then use a positions of each cylinder to C-D but that is only wishful thinking.

If I am visualizing the inline cylinders you are describing correctly and your goal is to use a CMM and Calypso to measure this callout you may have some luck using the "Step Cylinder" function under "Features" - "Special Geometries" and that may take some of the guess work out of interpretation. That said I haven't played around with Step Cylinder too much so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.

If they are supposed to be the same size, what I've done in the past is create a Max Inscribed Cylinder from all of the points, used that as the datum, and then evaluated the Position of the individual Cylinders back to that Max Inscribed Cylinder.

If you are using the new GD&T you don't have to do this at all. This would just be a Sim Requirement.

Thank you.  If cylinders are same size, can I use a cylinder or does it have to be a step cylinder?

UPDATE

Not sure if I asked the correct question.  After re-reading the note, I don't know if they are including all 4 cylinders

Yeah. I think they are intending the top set to be evaluated separately from the bottom set. And yeah, looks like Step Cylinder it is.
