[Lu...]
Hello, currently i am very happy with using Zeiss inspect 2025 free version. As of today however it seems all my installations have a license issue, it seems to state that there is no license. Also after activating a different installation and trying to reinstall 2025, there is somehting going on with licensing in the backend. Perhaps there is a reason why, but currently i do not know. So i am back to using Cyclone 3DR for inspections, which is, in some cases, not working ok. Does anybody know what licensing rules are? Or what is going on? I contacted support today, i havent received an email yet. thanks.
[Lu...]
I guess i need to 'Reset' my licenses but i do know where: When i apply again for the free license it states: "Sorry but two licenses have already been used with your Zeiss ID" I have had no other installation 'on' the whole time, Yesterday i was working with Zeiss Inspect the whole day on one Computer, and it was on until today but today my license is revoked/Lost or something. So if anyone can help here it would be appreciated. thanks. Edited February 12, 2025
[Lu...]
Does anybody perhaps know why '2 Licenses' are being withheld when i am not using any license? Is this due too policy or error? Support or comments from GOM/Zeiss personel? Can I activate or deactivate licenses myself? Hope to hear what the issue could be. [Da...]
Could it be related to the fact, that you are using two Zeiss-ID identities? At least in this thread you are. That would be my best guess.
[DW...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I had this happen recently, put a ticket in with Zeiss and they never returned the call or did any sort of followup. So I went investigating myself. What is happening is a Windows process related to malware (recent upgrade to Windows 11) is shutting down CodeMeter Runtime, which constantly checks if your license is a valid license over the internet. From GPT - To ensure that a service, such as the CodeMeter Runtime, refires immediately after it is canceled (stopped) in Windows Services (services.msc), you can configure the recovery options for the service. Here's how to do it: Open Services Management Console: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. Type services.msc and press Enter. Locate the CodeMeter Runtime Service: In the Services window, scroll down to find the "CodeMeter Runtime" service or whatever it's named in your installation. Open Service Properties: Right-click on the CodeMeter Runtime service and select Properties. Configure Recovery Options: Go to the Recovery tab. You will see options for First failure, Second failure, and Subsequent failures. For each of these options, you can select Restart the Service from the dropdown menu. You can also specify a time delay in the Reset fail count after and Restart service after fields (for example, set these to 1 minute). Apply Changes: Click OK to save your changes. I set mine to 1 sec or immediately, so when Windows 11 randomly decides CodeMeter Runtime is malicious, it refires immediately, never dropping the license. [yo...]
Note to anyone getting this error. I started to have this same issue at some point on my main workstation and never bothered to put a ton of time into figuring it out. I did come across this thread a couple times and was really hoping to not need to go through the above workaround. I haven't been doing much related work lately so just did the couple projects on my laptop. Then a couple days ago after reading this thread again I started wondering what it could be. Something at some point got me into the startup apps settings and I realized CodeMeter Control Center was off. I very well might have done this at some point as I hate having a lot of startup apps and generally it just means the app opens it when it needs it. Well in this case it seems like you very much want to keep that enabled as a startup app. I enabled it, restarted my computer and got back in with it seeing the license and so far working properly again. [De...]
GOM license management has been a joke ever since zeiss took over. more than likely they're no longer issuing free 2025 licenses.. they have some policy where they only issue licenses for software's released <2yrs ago. I wouldn't think that would affect 2025.. but who knows...🤔 I'd say try to download Zeiss Inspect 2026 and request a '26 free license. wish they would just bring back the gom wiki and the standalone executable. [No...]
From our experience in the last 2 years, free licenses expire after 1 year and have to be renewed, but can be only for the most recent release. So if you have 2025 installed it expires this year and you have to request a new trial license (which can be transformed into a free license later) which is only valid for release version 2026.
