[Da...]
I have only just started playing around with saving PDFs. I found the steps to have it automatically save a PDF of the PiWeb report, and have it set up to save it by program name/date/time. I tested it out, and it created the folders and saved the pdf as expected. We have a few parts with features that are very finicky, and so whenever they are out of tolerance by a couple of tenths, I will re-run just that feature and sometimes it will change to in tolerance. I tried this, and it did change to in tolerance, and I was able to view the updated report on my screen, but it did not save a new pdf report or override the first one. I was able to click save and override it manually, but is there a way to make it do that automatically? Edited February
[Ma...]
If you are running that program in Autorun, then you probably don't have checked PDF for run in programming mode - or you hit F9 ( run selected features ) which will not bring header table for new start - so no pdf will be created and no protocol will be shown. So which state you have? Have you selected feature/characteristic and clicked on button "Run" - selected run "Actual selection" and protocol is shown Have you selected feature/characteristic and clicked F9 ( "quick launch" ) - no other selection and no protocol shown

[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Martin, I don't know what Autorun is. But I have both ways and the new protocol is shown as you said but it does not save it as a pdf. What Jorg suggested works but if you know how to make it save automatically after "Run" - "Current Selection" I will do that.
[Ma...]
Well Autorun is CNC run ( there is dedicated forum for that ) I have saved template program for new programs where i have all setup - so i don't know for sure what needs to be set, but: there is window where you can select PiWeb protocol - click on PDF icon to be checked there is window where you can set to store measured actuals, pdfs, QDAS and others - there set PDFs to on when you are starting to run measurement ( that window where you are selecting what run you want, max speed and alignments ) there shoud be enabled or checked PDF checkbox I'll try to post screens when i'll get to work. [De...]
Afternoon Darci, Martin nailed this one on the head like always. Right-click > Execute or F9 on your selected feature to be measured. Once a new actual has been recorded, open the run menu and confirm the following settings are selected. When we confirm the run, a new PDF will be populated with the original values, and your newly executed feature results. Edited February

[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. When we went to the Calypso class long ago and the instructor talked about the different types of reports, the first question my - now retired - colleague asked was "Is it editable?" 😂

[Lu...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Is "Greening" a bad thing? My apologies if it that is a dumb question I am new to cmm/metrology.
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this username. well if you have problematic program / part, then you can not easily avoid this type of editing program. But only if you are doing correction withing strategy / recalled points. Editing program just to make it a "good" part is bad approach.
[Lu...]
Please sign in to view this username. I appreciate it thanks, i will often rerun parts that show out of tolerance to see if it was a fluke so I just wanted to double check, thanks.
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Luke, you ask a terrific question, and no apology is necessary. From my perspective, if re-running a part is done to increase plausibility in a measurement result, then it is a value-added activity. However, if re-running and overwriting an existing report is done simply to get a part to pass, then this behavior should be called into question. So, to answer your question: the underlying motivation should be considered. Our job as metrologists is to provide a trustworthy, stable result. Pressure to pass parts and bias can often compromise the stability of a measurement process. It's our job to keep things as scientific and objective as possible.
