Dear sir,

we have the issue that if temperature is 20-21 degree then Outer dia. dimension increases &  if temperature is 27-29 degree then Outer dia. dimension Decreases. on CMM inspection

Please suggest or any solution or feedback on above issue in order to improve the measurement.

Is it tacticle or optical CMM?

  • Have you turned temperature compensation on?
  • Temp. probes are placed on part?
  • Is that temperature of part or ambient?

CMM is tacticle,

  • Have you turned temperature compensation on? YES
  • Temp. probes are placed on part? YES
  • Is that temperature of part or ambient? Part

The Issue is if temperature varies will that affect part diameter.

Temperature is having affect on every dimension. Part is shrinking with lower temp and growing with rising temp.

How much is given by material.

If you have enabled temp. compensation, then it should not affect your measurement if your temp. coeficient is correct ( for given material )
Without temp. comp. you should have smaller dia on smaller temp and bigger dia on bigger temp.
