angle of coverage for qualification.

hello!

when (re)qualifying a probe, are there downsides to reducing the angle of coverage to <180°?

i'm working on a Vast XT + Navigator; others in the lab seem to think it's fine to qualify some of the probes as Tensor/reduce the angle of coverage to avoid having to change the orientation of the reference sphere, but i have some doubts about that.

thanks!

If I am remembering correctly, then Tensor can not have reduced angle. But I was doing full qualification.

Downsides: possibly altered tip position on worn tip. But it depends on how you are using that probe and part material.
