Create intersection between torus and surface

Hello,

Unfortunately, in comparison to other measuring elements, I cannot create an intersection between the torus and the surface. I need this to measure a diameter from it. See picture.

Are there other ways to create an intersection point at the transition from the torus to the surface?image.png.40c907e4aec62995d06f7ef91b39245c.png

I can not see which diameter you need and if that surface is cone or something another.

Yould need to measure that torus as circle around D2 - or just measure a circle in the way you need your number. Circles can be used in intersections so make more of them to get more points for calculation.

Looks like the torus is the ID ring on the outside? Kind of like a circular moat? If you have curve you can scan four 2d curves equally spaced (12/3/6/9) around the torus. Then use the Kink point function to get the four intersections to construct a circle. Or possibley measure four equally spaced circles in that well and intersect them with the top plane.

Create a circle using "Define circle on Cylinder", touch Torus, select subsidiary radius.  Create Intersection construction, selecting circle and plane.

Or use section tool to create a circle on torus. Repeat for all 4 quadrants.  Create a circle and Recall the 4 intersections.

FYI Assuming the radius of the torus is tangent to the top plane, the D1 of the torus equals the intersection (tangency) of the torus and the plane.
