Funnily enogh, this has already been working way back in a release around 4.8 or so. But then they broke it again and never fixed it until today. I learned to live with it, but yes, it's annoying. Especially when you want to check an exact stylus position in a bore in simulation and get a hexagon instead. Don't get me wrong, the collision check still works.

That behavior of breaking something that formerly worked seems to happen in Calypso from time to time.

Remember how Calypso used to accurately assign styii and clearance planes but now does not?

I guess there are some functions in Calypso that were implemented once and then never touched again because only a few people use them and they probably get next to no complaints about them. A good example are rack assignments. The way they work is annoying too if you really rely on them in your daily work. The fact that opened assignments are never closed and there is no warning if you modify an open assignment, has lead to a lot of trouble in our processes in the past. I mentioned this at every occasion possible when in contact with Zeiss, but nothing ever happened.

The whole CAD system needs a rework. Using large models in Calypso vs Inspect is a night and day difference. I don't know if it's because of how Inspect was written or what, but Calypso really struggles with large CAD files.

In addition, the CAD kernel in Inspect is vastly superior, I've just about never had an issue with a model being imported in Inspect, especially PMI models.
