probe diameter

Hello everyone

Do you have a probe diameter that you choose according to the part?

Or do you use the most suitable probe diameter that you have?

As the probe diameter increases, the contact point with the part increases, but I wonder if it affects the ovality/cylindricity/flatness of the part as the probe diameter increases.

Does anyone have experience or a document regarding this?

It depends on surface finish, shaft diameter and length of probe to have stable results.

For small inner radii it's better to use smaller then bigger ( R3,0mm radii and R1,0mm probe would be better then R2,0 probe )

The cookbook recommends probe sizes based on geometry, but I generally just analyze the geometry myself and decide what's best to use. That works well for me.
