Probe moving beyond clearance planes. Limiting in X and Y axis with RDS head.

Good morning.

Historically, I've had no problem running with the RDS head. But the last couple times I've ran a program, it wants to move well beyond the clearance planes between features. This isn't a show stopper for Z axis. But it will hit the X and Y limit and the stop light will come on. My clearance cube is set to 0.8" but it seems to move about 8.00". These are programs we've proven out months ago with no issues. Running Calypso 2023 on a Prismo. Looking for suggestions. Has anyone run into this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Your clearance cube is set to 0.8 inches all around your part? Are any of the edges blocked for CNC navigation?

Hello Matt,

8 inches seems a bit large for this, but can you check extras>settings>CMM and look under the probe tab. Check what it says for the "Diameter" at the top.

Also, bear in mind that it does have to make sure that all styli are out of the clearance plane when it makes it's move. So a non-existent stylus, or possibly one at a strange angle, may cause something like this.
