[Ni...]
Good afternoon, In summary I created a new machine tab / offline planner as we are purchasing a new CMM. After creating the planner, if I go to drop a single point on a CAD model the probing point shows different actual to nominal locations; intially before hitting 'OK' to create the point the actual coordinates displayed is the correct position. Once I hit 'OK' to create the point it moves locations to what is shown in the 'nominal' geometry which is not the correct position...See images below. Image one shows a point creation, notice how the nominal and actual geometry are much different from each-other. Image two shows the "green" point - that is where i clicked on the model, the orange point shown is where the physical point moves to for no apparent reason Image 3 shows the feature window and point AFTER executing the feature, the nominal and actual now match but are entirely incorrect to the actual spot on the model that I wanted to create the point at. [Da...]
In evaluation do you have the stylus radius correction checked?
[Ni...]
Yes, the issue seems to occur regardless of what probe I have in, and the actual to nominal distance the point moves is inconsistent from one point to the next. Edited March
[Ni...]
Ok, I fixed the issue. It turned out being the 'round-off measure' setting shown below. Apparently, the new machine tab defaulted to .100 so it was rounding the nominal point by up to .
[To...]
See how your nominals rounded to .X Go to Extras > Settings > Measurement and set nominals round to .XXXX
