Our engineers that get us cad models would like to know how to make them where we can use PMI. We can use sat or step for the cad models. I have had them try a couple of times and we are getting nowhere.

Hello Jimmy,

without the CALYPSO Version or any other info its hard to make a guess but i would start with the following from the release Info:

Are your engineers using any of those CAD Software versions?

Best Regards

Marcel

Assuming that you are using CALPYSO 2024, this is the list of PMI compatible CAD formats, from the CALYPSO 2024 Release Notes.

I have attached what we have. This is Autodesk Inventor, and it is all corporate will let us use at this time. Is there any tricks we can use to get it to do the PMI?

I have no experience with this, but i think that to use PMI you have to place callouts into model in order to save those informations.

I made model as nominal, then in another document for drawing i was placing callouts and dimensions.
I don't know Inventor, but there should be similar way as SolidWorks do - one workspace for models and another one for drawings.

Also look for options while saving model - you should be able to select file version and possibly check/uncheck saving with PMI

I will admit to being ignorant to when it comes to Autodesk Inventor, but it looks like you do have the option to output in both the CATIA V5 and STEP formats, but the versions not specified. If you have the appropriate import licenses, have you tried these?

We have tried step.

If you do catia v5 how do you get it to stp or sab. I noticed on the CAD Cube PMI, it is in sab

sounds like you might need to google "defining PMI in (enter cad system here)"

To get PMI with STEP exported you'll need additional license probably for every modeler out there.

It usually named STEP AP242 or similar.
