Hallo,

Hello Thomas,

I'm afraid I am going off of Google Translate here, but you are wondering what files you need to transfer from one computer to another to get Calypso back up to where it was, correct?

Usually when customers ask me, I respond with 4 folders: the config, the protocol, the data and the workarea. The config stores all the information about the machine tab, including the styli. The workarea (by default) has all your programs, results and base alignments, though base alignments aren't really a necessity in simulation. The protocol stores most of the information about templates for your reports as well as custom made user fields. The data folder I copy over mostly just to be safe in case the customer has a custom excel report template or something like that.

These files are in the user directory for Calypso. There are a couple methods to find that, but the simplest is probably to right click on the icon for Calypso on your desktop, select properties and then look under "Start in". This should give a path something like "C:\users\public\documents\Zeiss\Calypso".

Move those files from the old computer to the corresponding location on the new one and that should get you most of the way there. There might be a couple additional items (for additional users or toolbars, it might be useful to move C:\program data\Zeiss\Calypso 6.8\toolbars and users to the corresponding folder on the new computer), but I would probably need more information to be certain.

I hope this helps.

Hello kyle,

thank you for your support.
I have now copied all the files mentioned to the new computer.
As the machine and users were not yet present, I then went via ‘Backup and restore’.
Now the machine and user are there, but what is still missing are my created probes and the probe tray.
Have I missed some data or do I need to do something else?

Hi Thomas,

folgende 2 Dateien fehlen vermutlich in deinem Backup:

image.thumb.png.3a0ece6c79f95d471577dce602ec89d2.png

Marcel

Please sign in to view this quote.

Hello Thomas,

As Marcel mentioned, if you are seeing everything but the probes and probe rack, it's probably the stylus database, which can be difficult to move over sometimes. Windows is generally distrustful of SQL files, it seems.

If you can still get into Calypso on the old computer (which might be difficult if you have a PC based license as I believe most in Europe do), you can try the backup/restore option (it has been there I believe since I've been here, which is now about 8 years, so it should be in 2019). In the English version, it is under extras>settings>miscellaneous menu under the system tab (I'm afraid I don't know the German equivalents to the names, though). You can save your CMM information here and hopefully it would have a better luck backing up the probe data. It worked on my side, but I can also move the database files just fine, so I can't be sure until you try it. It just saves the data out as a .set file and you can bring that in and restore it in the same place on the new computer.

Otherwise, you may need to work with your IT to make sure those SQL files (the ones mentioned by Marcel, as well as the SDOdata and SDO_datalog) get transferred properly. Also make sure they get put into the correct folder (the folder with the same name as the machine tab in the config/equip folder). Calypso unfortunately will not work if it is in a different folder.

Vielen Dank an euch.

Vielen Dank.

I have another question about this.

Is there another folder to copy for Gear Pro 2019 besides C:\Program Files (x86)\Zeiss\GearNT?

Or another trick to restore the Gear Pro settings?

Hi,

unfortunately there are no settings that can be copied to the newer version in GEAR 2019

As far as i know GEAR 2024 is the first version that can import settings from its previous version but only from the same system. (please correct me if im wrong)

Best Regards

Marcel
