My part. Imagine a wine glass. The stem is Datum -C-. the inside of the glass is square and has a surface profile callout

back to -C- (profile .003 U .000 C). Does this mean that the inside of the glass can only grow up to .006 per side?

Ok, based on your attachment it looks like I'm correct. The inside of the glass can grow by .003 per side.

You have an unequal with 0.003 on the inside and 0 on the outside. You cannot have any material on the outside of the nominal Profile, and you can only have 0.003 worth of material inside of the nominal Profile.

OK. So, its opposite of what I stated. It can't get larger inside the glass?

As i see it your tolerance is going inside material - so hole will be bigger or outside diameter smaller.

The zero after the U symbol indicates the amount of tolerance in plus material direction. You can allow for more wine but not less.
