[Is...]
Is it possible for a user to input data which will be visible on a QC-calc report and/or show up in exported points file? I understand how to use a Result Element characteristic to prompt the user for a numerical value, but it will not allow letters to be input. Is there another way to report alphanumeric data? I also understand a prompt can be given for such data to be input by user which will be visible in the header of the report, but this information does not get printed to QC-Calc. [Is...]
Just to clarify, the data I want a user to input isn't solely numeric. It will need to be a combination of letters and numbers.
[Ma...]
I have never used this feature but it looks like QC-Calc has an option to add a "manual characteristic" to the CMM file to stay together with your CMM data. I am not sure if this can be useful in your case. It may also not accept alphanumeric values.
[Ky...]
I'll be honest, I'm not super familiar with QC-Calc, but can it not load in the header table file AND the characteristics table file? I'm assuming that you want to add stuff like "order number" or something like that, which is easy to add and it will show up in your reports fairly easy, including the table files.... [Ja...]
Are you meaning something like a serial number to be included in the QC-Calc database when reviewing & exporting data? I will set up programs to have a prompt of the "lotid" and it should be able to accept any form.. from "LL", "001337" to "001337 OQ1" and it should automatically export to QC-Calc. If you go to the Measurement Tab on the left, then Multiple Report > Select report header parameters, you will have a host of the default options you can select. (Right, wrong or indifferent I check both boxes here) For example when I use Parameter Name(s) "Incremental Part Number" and "Lot ID" it will fill the QC-Calc database fields "partnb", "partnbinc" and "lotid". That is all very different from the manually inputted result element.. so hoping that is what you are looking for. 🙂 My only reservation is that you may have to select parameters that are both in that report header parameter list and able to be recognized/received by QC-calc, which you can double check in the Options of QC-Calc under Trace Fields. I haven't become that involved with it yet, so at this point if you have a specific label or something you are looking for that isn't working out I would get in touch with Prolink.
