[Er...]
Hi all, Our DS 0.2mm x L 18mm (626103-5122-018) keeps breaking. It has broken during re-qualificaiton at 15mN force and 5% probing dynamic and during parts inspection. While observing the probe during a qualification with a digital microscope, that probe is flexing. Does someone also have experience with 0.2mm probes that can share some wisdom? Thank you! [Ma...]
I would exclude dynamic tensor - this probe would be better just for points - scanning can be tought for this probe
[Er...]
Hi Martin, Good point. We did in fact change the qualification mode for dynamic tensor to tensor after breaking it the first time. However, while re-qualifying it, it broke again. We'd like to come up with a recipe that allows us to reliably use 0.2 mm probes. Avoiding scans could be a part of the recipe. Thank you.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Many probes have some amount of flex in them. The function of the qualification, i.e. Tensor, Dynamic Tensor, Passive qualification, etc., is to measure the amount of flex that a stylus has, often referred to as the "bending map". Once this has been established, it is used to correctly measure features.
[Er...]
Hi all, Thank you everyone for your inputs. I used the six point calibration and the probe seems to be holding up for now.
