The place that i work at has an older rev of Calypso, 2021 SP1

7.4.04 (4/11/2021)

Our sister plant has an even older rev, 2019.

How do i send programs that our sister plant can use? How do i backdate programs.

If its not real easy then i just wont do it.......

Hello

Calypso program are not backward compatible. if program are made in 2021 calypso they will not open in calypso 2019.

i would suggest either installing 2019 calypso in your computer or upgrading Sister Plant Calypso to 2021

Calypso 7.4 is still using ZLAU,  so you can install Calypso 2019 also in your location without to ask for an additional license file..

then agree to develop the programs always in the older version available..  if you have good luck you can open your current  7.4 programs modifying the version file.

This has always worked for me... I think the only disclaimer is if you are using later developed functions (like Caliper Distance) that may not be available in earlier versions.

So i can save a bunch of files, delete the "Version" text file, and it'll run?

I'm not using any advance features, a couple Profiles and TP's and that's about it.

Zeiss warns us that something could go wrong so this is NOT a procedure supported by Zeiss.  As long as there aren't any items in the new software that weren't available on the older software, this has worked for me.    This did not work going from 2024 to 2023 but I don't know if it was an incompatible item, or it doesn't work due to other changes in 2024.

I think I would test some of your more complex programs before you go hog wild.
