[gr...]
Hello Everyone. Does anyone have experience suing angled stylus like one attached on vast xxt?I'n trying to use it to measure bores on a big case that is hard to reach. Star probe will not clear top flange so I was thinking of using this one. Can this probe be angled in addition to it's angle that is build in? I hope I'm making sense in my explanation.Any help would be appreciated
[Ri...]
With a 13.3mm MLE, you may need a Ø8mm reference sphere. From there, qualify as any stylus in the axis direction of the working length (MLE).

The stylus you posted has an M5 thread and with a thread adapter, will probably too heavy for the XXT Sensor. You could probably get a custom one made by a 3rd party. [gr...]
Thanks for the suggestion.I will also try to build L probe with 5x50 maybe 75 mm on a 70 mm extension but hat seems excessive for weight. What would be max stylus on a l shaped set up
[To...]
15 g Most of the XXT stuff is designed with weight in mind. As you can see, the above holder is only 6.33 g. You can all of the components up to see if you're under the 15 g suggested limit. Also, the horizontal leg recommendation is 65mm max. If you can find the box the XXT sensor came in, there should be an insert that shows the recommended limits for weights and dimensions

[gr...]
One last thing. Can L shaped probe be calibrated using CAA?
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Yes, but honestly it's not worth the trouble unless you truly are going to use hundreds and hundreds of rotations.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Are you talking about a horizontal only stylus system? I'm curious on the steps to do this. I always under the impression you had to create a -Z position first, then you could a horizontal stylus.
[gr...]
ok That attachment should be arriving soon I will try .I wouldn't need many angles calibrated .And yes tom I was going to use horizontal stylus only.

[Ri...]
Yep. In my limited testing you first have to start with a -Z only probe, let it complete its CAA qualification, then you can remove the -Z, add your horizontal probe, add the stylus, and perform a limited CAA qualification (I believe like 6 rotations).
