Scaling 3D model with pcm?

Hello everyone,

is it possible to scale a model with pcm command. we have some simple parts that expand in one direction, they can have different lengths but our base cad model is only 1mm. so right now we scale our models and save them as individual cad models in our inspection directory. the idea would be to have only one model and scale it via a pcm command.

Calypso is not really a CAD editor more of a CAD reader only.

 

 I love the idea of scaling, and it may be possible with the engine - but currently there is no way I know if. NX and most CAD software do have a scale tool.

 

PCM however is made for measuring different scale parts or part families. So if you don't really need the CAD model, PCM might be the way to go to simplify the programs using VARiables.

  Wow, I did send come commands via PCM to the acis engine, however is a bit tricky. 

Interesting to know - I think I'll give it a go sometime later. Thanks for the info.

 I wasn't talking about pcm, but manually by transform, there is scaling - so there can be a undocumented pcm for that perhaps.

 Are we on same page? Open Calypso -> menu CAD -> something with entities, where you can rotate and transform model. There should be on bottom scaling a model with number. If you need increase by 5% then you use 1.05.

Not right now at Calypso and i am not sure how to obtain and send what you are asking for.

Ah yes, here you go, wow its been a long time since Ive used this ..

This is theoretically possible with PMC but much easier here to scale and save the files needed, then you can clear and Load them with PCM.

Fun fact: you can select curve spline in hierarchy and mirror it with button - perhaps can scale too. You can not select spline here so you have to select it at hierarchy before swithing to this tab.
