[Ch...]
Has anyone else been getting a missing clearance plane error that started after installing service pack 7.8.12. This problem has carried over to Calypso 8.0 as well. I was really hoping it would stop after installing 8.0 but the problem is sticky. I'm trying to submit a service request to have someone from Zeiss look at it, but their service ticket page is conveniently not working in the most Zeiss way possible. for example, if you have a feature with strategy as such: Clearance data= Blank Circle Path Clearance data= +Z This case give an error about missing clearance planes and the program stops. See attached for more info and better pictures of error. Clearance Plane Issue After 7.8.12 v.0.pdf
[Th...]
I see the same behavior in my planner seat on 7.8.12. I don't know if that's a bug or an intentional change, but it's odd that Calypso lets you select a blank clearance group if it's not supposed to be used. Can you use sub clearances instead? If my old advanced training booklet is correct, SCP with the retract to inner plane setting unchecked acts like a blank clearance group. Whether or not it works the way you need it to, I don't know, but Calypso (at least in planner) will execute a feature that's set up the way you described, with a sub clearance in place of the first blank one. [Ch...]
I'm going to try a SCP's, but still annoying my cmm programmer will need to edit a lot of programs for something that has worked for years. We had a guy that came from a PCDMIS background, his programs have few clearance planes. He just used lots of position points. It's actually kinda cool, there is almost no wasted cmm movement. [To...]
With SCP's and some occasional position points, you can really customize the navigation to waste very little movement. I always say that out of the box, Calypso is designed to be relatively safe with navigations, then some PC-DMIS guy will say you can't control Calypso and there's so much wasted motion. Gloves are dropping...lol
[Ch...]
It's official; I got word from Zeiss that they have killed the blank clearance plane. It won't be coming back.
