Geometry Best Fit question?

I am curious about using Geometry Best Fit on a plane Profile? How this works? I have been messing around with it i have a profile of .040" on a plane and when i use just the profile back to my base alignment it is giving me .038". I use the Geometry Best Fit and select my Plane and click the boxes for my constraints of X and Y Translation and Rotation and leave the Z boxes checked. I then go back into the Characteristic select my plane and select the Geometry Best fit for my Datum Reference Frame and i am getting a reading of .0001". Is this the correct way to use this? Thank you for any feedback on this.

Profile of a surface is primarily a location tolerance. It locates the surface with respect to the datum reference frame. If you do a geometry best fit and select every box, you completely disconnect the plane from the datum reference frame. You are effectively evaluating flatness at that point since you are optimizing the datum reference frame to only evaluate the form error.
