[Bl...]
Hello All, I read some things on this forum on how to create a program in Autorun but for some reason there are some issues. I'll list below what I've done already. This is my first time trying something like this. - Created "fixture" program (ran as "fixture CNC" after alignment was created then save) - Created "part" program (ran manual alignment then save) - Closed all programs and opened up Autorun - Clicked button with 9 dots and selected "part" program (for some reason some words in red words showed up in that base alignment dropdown, can't remember exactly what) - Selected dropdown on base alignment to see if I can find "part" program but couldn't find it - "Fixture CNC" program was present in pallet alignment dropdown and was selected Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong and why the program isn't showing in the base alignment dropdown options? Like I said this is my first time doing this so I may have other questions along with this. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
[Ma...]
Can you share picture of this pallet settings? There should be pallet alignment, part alignment and XY distances of each nest with number of rows and columns
[Bl...]
Hello Martin, Thank you for getting back to me. For some reason manual alignment is in red on the part alignment. I'm trying to understand Autorun since this is the first time I've used it. Do you happen to know what could be going on? When looking for the program in the dropdown I can't find the "part" program that I made for it either. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! [Ma...]
So with creating of this pallet you choosed a part program right and not a pallet? Here you can not set manual alignment - you have to choose base alignment of the part program. You have to place part on first nest, open the part program, open base alignment and click do manually - then you can save it and go to this window, where you select your base alignment ( without CNC ) - so now you succesfully connected pallet origin with first part origin. [Bl...]
- Yes, when I clicked on the button with the 9 dots I clicked on the actual "part" program (this is the program that I created and I want to use for the actual measuring) - I already placed the part on the first nest and did a manual alignment inside of the actual part program and saved. Am I doing something wrong? For some reason the part isn't showing up in the dropdown
[Ma...]
How you performed manual alignment? You should do that in window where you are setting up base alignment, then on bottom right corner should be button for manual alignment and don't forgget to check automatic run ( or cnc or whatever is there )
[Bl...]
I performed manual alignment by clicking Run button and then setting to manual alignment. Once the alignment was taken I stopped the program. I can see inside the actual alignment window there's the button on the bottom right corner. A photo was attached below. Do all the check boxes look right? [Ma...]
You have checked that correctly. Here just click on that button "Execute manual run now" - this should save base alignment which you then select instead of manual alignment in pallet settings.
[Bl...]
I tried doing what you told me and now it's still showing manual alignment in red and I still can't find the program in the dropdown. It's definitely something I'm doing wrong but I don't know what
[Ma...]
So let's start over - if you want to start measuring a part in program, do you have there your base alignment set without manual alignment? If yes, then delete pallet and make a new one.
[Bl...]
Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, you're asking if I've set the base alignment without the option of manual alignment within the "part" program? I set the base alignment with both options (the one I attached earlier with "execute manual run now" and from the run button). Sorry if I'm not understanding
[Ma...]
I hope that link provided by Please sign in to view this username. in General section will help you. I am trying to figure out if you have "name of program" alignment selected in run options ( when you want to measure a part ). If yes, then in pallet settings should be at top. If you are sure that this base alignment name is not in list, then create new pallet.
[Bl...]
Hello Martin, I'm pretty sure it's the way that I'm setting it up. Thanks for linking Caitlin's link, I have read over it but want to also confirm that what I'm doing is correct. I forgot to mention that I have set up one pallet for random fixtures that were all the same heights a while back. This is what I did in order to create that program: - create "part" program and perform manual alignment on it from the run button then saved/closed - create "fixture" and perform "fixture CNC" on it then saved/closed - Close every program and open Autorun - Click on 9 dot button and clicked on the "part" program (program that has all characteristics that I want to report) - It showed up manual alignment in red, but when I searched for it I saw the part program in the dropdown for the part alignment - clicked on "fixture CNC" under pallet alignment - everything offset properly in X/Y This practice program ^ ran fine. It wasn't until I actually tried running an actual part that it started acting weird
[No...]
Let's try another approach: Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the following location: C:\users\public\documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO <X.Y>\workarea\basesystems\ (<X.Y> being the version you are using currently) Now see if you can find a folder with the name of your part program (without (CNC) extension). If you find it, open the folder and check if it conatins three files: data, username and version. If the folder exists and the files are there, there must be something going wrong while you set up the palette. If the folder is missing, your manual alignment was not saved for whatever reason. By the way, it is NOT necessary to resave your program in order to keep the manual alignment you just executed. If you align from the base alignment dialog (which I stronlgy recommend instead of the run window), the alignment is saved to the folder above as soon as you click OK in the dialog. The program itself only saves the definition, but not the actual values. Why I recommend aligning from the BA dialog has nothing to do with your Autorun problem, but can help avoid other alignment issues. Please sign in to view this quote. Just to understand this correctly: Is this the step that is NOT working in your current palette setup? Edited June
