Change default alignment for all features to something other than base alignment

Is there a way to change what alignment a new feature defaults to IE to something other than the base alignment? I know there is the 'pre-assignment for new features' window, but that isn't quite what I am looking for.

I am just hoping to be able to create features and instead of it always being 'base alignment' I want it to be a different alignment that has been defined.

As Chris stated - one note -> select your alignment and keep that window opened.
