[Se...]
Immediately after updating to windows 11 when i try to turn on the CMM it causes my computer to essentially shut down, going to a blue error screen. I updated to Calypso 8.0 and the problem persists. Zeiss insists this is a system issue and my IT department is not able to find a way to make the cpu+cmm communicate nicely. Has anyone encountered this before?
[Ch...]
Just to make sure I understand the problem clearly - So you power the PC on and everything works but as soon as you press the power button on your CMM (before even launching CALYPSO) the PC goes blue screen? Or is it as soon as you launch CALYPSO from the desktop icon that the PC goes blue screen? What happens if you unplug the CMM ethernet cable temporarily and then power on the PC, do you still get the blue screen? Obviously you can't connect to the CMM without the ethernet plugged in but this would help you determine if the issues is solely PC related or CMM related. Could help narrow the issue down. [Se...]
As soon as i press the power button on the CMM (before even launching calypso) my PC goes blue screen. When i blue screen i have to turn off the CMM and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before restarting. (else i get stuck restarting) With the ethernet cable disconnected from the CMM nothing happens. When I plug it back in it goes blue screen.
[Ky...]
That is an odd one. Calypso doesn't seem to be involved if this happens when Calypso isn't turned on. My guess would something related to the ethernet port driver or something like that. Do you have a different ethernet port that you can try? Is this a computer you received from Zeiss? It could also be something with the controller, but I tend to doubt it.
[Ch...]
Very strange, maybe it has something to do with the network card itself not so much what the CMM is doing. For example, as soon as there is any data traffic through said network card = blue screen? If you have a different network card available on the PC maybe you can try switching the CMM to us it instead and see what happens. [Se...]
Kyle, The computer is not from Zeiss. And I do not have an open ethernet port that I can recall. (IT currently has my workstation) Charlie, We are going to set up a new computer and move the network card to the new PC. If that does not work should I look to getting a new network card? Thank you, Seth
