2D Curve Profile issue:

Hi,

I have an issue regarding to Line Profile using Zeiss Calypso. I have created a curve on the section for the cure and used line profile characteristic and taken Unilateral (Nominal Contour outside) as a shape of zone as curve is on the outer surface of the part. The tolerance is 0.2, but I am always getting the profile in red, i.e: if I take tolerance 0.200 it is showing 0.339. for 0.00 tolerance it is 0.139. it is always adding 0.139 in the defined tolerance.

Is it the right shape of zone to use in this case. Any ideas how I can get the correct reading for this profile.

Thanks.

I have a little experience with this type of definition of alignment.

I would rather make a new alignment with all set as 3d line -A- ( except secondary ).
Then make alignment from many curves, set base alignment from previous step and allow only rotation around 3d line and translate in axis direction ( so rotation in Y and translation in Y )

About profile actual - if you enable graphical evaluation, you will then see all points in CAD view and it's deviations. Then you can figure out how it is.

I would use Bilateral win unequal distribution and set tolerance one side as 0.
This will surelly report biggest deviation from center of tolerance multiplied by 2.
