When using this folder, we used to have a ""shared addon" on the addon editors :

This addon as now disapears and we cannot shares scripts and others stuff between our differents users

I know the v2025 is now avalaible but still, we need it also in v2023

Thank you very much for your help,

Julien

Hi Nanno

I know the utilisations of the "app" (before named package in v2023)

But before (v7.5 till v2018, i think) the only way to share scripts and common data was the public folder...

but the point with package/apps whitch I'm still afraid is :

 -  if many user edit on his own a common package, how to merged all the edited package in one ?

 - How to see "in live" the differents changes

and the difference for public and user location is not so clear to me.

For what  know, if you want to make an change in a package, you need to edit the package, close it, export it on a public "source packages" and the other see the new version if they have the "source packages" in their preference.

But what's happen if the other are editing the package in the same time...

Hi,

Please sign in to view this quote.

You can install several Apps at the same time and have access to the content. The content can be merged into one App.

If you want to work collaborative, you can "Connect External Folder" (top right button). This is basically an App in edit mode, which can be worked on together. For releasing it, you would save it to the common App source and it's available for install for every user.

If you edit an App and save it again, it will automatically get another revision number. After Upload to the App source, there is a hint that an installed App can be updated.

Hope this helps,
Nanno
