[To...]
Would someone be able to explain how to move a CAD component to a specific location on another CAD component? In this example, I want to move a threaded post to a tapped hole on a plate. The knowledge base does not have an clear example of this type of movement. [Ch...]
Tom, I think this feature could be vastly improved in Calypso. I almost always do a manual calculated coordinate move for final CAD positioning. I sometimes use use the sliders to 'get it close'. To do it as I do, simply create a circle on each one, record X+Y values o both, go to Modify CAD Entities, select one to move, move amount needed in positioning window. Same for Z height. I use similar TRU-POS lugs in our programs as well. Perhaps try the 'center' feature above ? Edited 20 hours ago
[Ma...]
I had no luck with this - so i end up with retrieving features to get how much i have to move it in "Transformation" tab. Or by using SolidWorks and assembly to get correct model 🙂
[Cl...]
Tom. I don't have access to Calypso right now, but I did this about a month ago. If my memory serves me right, you open Modify CAD Model > Positioning > Check "Target Only" and "Point". Then highlight one model at a time. Click the Position button and click a point on the desired surface. Then click a second point on the mating surface. Play around with that sequence. I'm pretty sure that's it. [Ra...]
1. Import into Solidworks 2. Mate faceA to face B 3. Import back into Calypso /s In all seriousness, all the CMM software that I'm familiar with doesn't do CAD translating well. Mitutoyo even has something called "fixture builder" and it is quite terrible. I'm sure you're asking here because you have no other options, but actual CAD software does this so easily.
