Collision Message Errors in Calypso Planner 7.6

Whenever I run a simulation in Calypso Planner, I receive error messages such as “Positions outside measuring range.” These errors appear specifically when the system attempts to change a stylus in the magazine. Currently, there is no magazine available for XXT probes, which prevents me from creating a rack using the magazine.

I suspect the Position Outside Measurement Range is due to 1 or 2 things. The first is that, as you say, you have no probe rack, so simulation defaults to going to 0,0,0 to do the exchange, which is outside of the measurement range technically. The second is that frequently in simulation the part is not located on the virtual CMM in the way it would be on a physical machine(often the simulated part is located with its origin at the CMM system origin, as happens by default when loading, unless the CAD model positioning tools are used), so when simulation travels around the part as it would, it travels outside the simulated CMM volume, generating these messages.

Yes, the part was already properly positioned within the virtual CMM working area. The only movements that remain at position zero are related to probe changes, as there is no probe rack configured in the simulation.

Is there anything I can do within the simulation setup to eliminate these errors?

I'm having the same issue here. Looking at the simulation run it looks like it is traveling to the home position after every point. I did verify it is not in single points and the clearance cube and clearance distance all seem fine. Looking at the way it is stuttering seems tells me it might be a rendering glitch. Not sure, I'm just as stuck as you are.

The issue remains unresolved. It appears that during the base alignment process, Calypso resets the part to the machine's zero position, making it unfeasible to carry out the simulation due to these recurring errors.

I need assistance with this matter, as our goal is to expand offline programming and automate production.

Yes, it disappears, but I need this function active, because I need to check the collisions, so that the program works correctly and I also need to make the execution as accurate as possible.

I am having a similar issue where the sim wants to move the entire probe head somewhere outside the measuring volume zillions of times.  I believe the virtual XXT racks I have added are somehow outside the measuring volume.   I had to add the virtual pockets otherwise we had to manually accept probe changes just to do a sim run.

It is incredibly inconvenient to not be able to simulate a probe rack with XXT pockets. I don't understand why this feature is missing. (In fact, Why isnt there one single button on my main CMM to copy the entire setup including probes and rack locations to the sim?!?)

Hello

Do you have the XXT rack with pockets configured for the simulation?

I don’t have the XXT rack with pockets in my simulation either. Do you know how to add it?

Also, I think your issue might be related to the virtual CMM volume. Make sure the dimensions are correctly defined in your simulation setup

In the Simulation screen, click on the Modify CAD Model button.

Inside of the Modify CAD Entities screen go to Position, click on your Model inside of the CAD window, and enter the translation values necessary to bring the part closer to where you need it.

I added my XXT pockets from the probe holder window.  In the simulation instead of probing the physical pocket, it seems to add it automatically.... somewhere?
