[Se...]
Hello, everyone ! I have questions about the stylus. Is there any way to check how often the stylus is used through PCM? For example, I want to show a replacement message when the P1 Stylus is used a lot. Is this possible? I also plan to set a specific usage time or number of uses. When the stylus reaches that limit, i want to replace it/ By the way, how do you usually manage styluses? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance Edited Sunday at 11:34 PM

There may be something in the firmware. It is very well possible with PCM but would be challenging, you would have to write a script everytime Calypso starts to check probe name , and also if program is actually running, rather than just open and machine is idle. You could log the start and end times by tip name. I think a better solution might be to use, the built in calibration time limit. However assuming you are already calibrating each probe once daily, then perhaps use a robust program for checking probe wear such as reporting probe characteristics with getProbe() and re-measuring the calibration sphere for accuracy as outlined in the KB. A third option is if you know what parts/programs each probe uses, you can guesstimate when it would be time to replace, and just add a buffer of a week or two, to make it sure it always gets changed out early. Out of curiosity ,what material is the probe and parts? do you see a lot of wear ?
[Se...]
Please sign in to view this quote. We are measuring cast iron parts, and all sections are inspected using scanning. We perform daily probe calibration and conduct monthly machine inspections as well. However, despite these measures, we experienced a dimensional issue caused by stylus wear. The problem was detected when scanning a specific surface, where a dimensional deviation occurred. We are documenting this incident and planning to implement regular stylus replacements moving forward.
