[Jo...]
Is it possible to change the characteristic name using PCM? For some background, I am trying to create a universal program based on a parameter file (.para) that will be used for multiple part numbers. At first glance, you cannot right-click and go to formula within any name box in Calypso. Is there a way to do this on the back end with a presetting? [Ch...]
I believe there is as I've seen it used by a company AccuracyForMachines. Could you instead have multiple characteristics , 1 for each part, then choose a mini-plan with .para file ?
[Jo...]
That could be a workaround, but it would be tedious for some of our other parts that have more variations. I stumbled upon a "renamefeature" PCM command, but I don't see one for characteristics.
[Ch...]
the way I mentioned with AfM is essentially they create or dump a new characteristics each time .para is selected, so kind of like a mini-plan or PMI. Probably safer a bit to keep things separate sometime, as renaming a single characteristic could cause potential issues , I imagine.
