[Dr...]
Hi all, I’m measuring optically on an O-Inspect running Calypso 2020. My goal is essentially to quantify the opaqueness of a pad printing process, which ideally deposits two identical layers of ink to achieve full coverage. In practice, sometimes an area only gets hit once, sometimes the pressure or adhesion is off, etc. What I’d like to do is obtain the gray value for a given pixel (or better yet, the median/average of a small area). I can get satisfactory manual results by setting a Median filter and either doing an edge analysis or right-clicking and choosing “Gray scale display”, but what I really want is to automate this exact function into a CNC program. There doesn’t appear to be an easy way to do it. I thought briefly about setting up a ton of small coincident circles, each with a slightly different manual grey value threshold, and then working some formula magic based on which ones actually manage to collect data among a litany of failures. That would basically give me the information I need, but it feels like a silly workaround. Any better ideas?
