Popular Post [Ri...]
Hi All, I wanted to share my Stylus System Verification program that I have created. The intent of this verification is only to ensure that the stylus qualification is valid, not that your stylus has flat spots, etc. I've mainly had this need when using Ts to measure a surface, and seeing mismatch. Here is the functionality: builds a list of all available stylus systems, and prompts you to select the stylus system you'd like to verify builds a list of the available styli on that particular system There are two run modes: Complete and Detail. The Complete run mode will run all available styli. The Detail run mode will prompt you to run the specific styli you want. the measurement plan is setup to only run a standard probe direction stylus system: +Y +X -Y -X By default it will ignore the #1 tip (-Z). I had no need to verify tip 1, but this code easily be added. In theory, it will work on any Star, T, or L buildup as long as they follow the standard numbering. It will output and open notepad showing the necessary corrections required to make your styli perfect. One thing I do not like that I had to do was building the styli list. In order for me the access the names and numbers, I have to make that stylus system active, so there is essentially unnecessary movement at the beginning because after you select the stylus system you want to verify, it will swap to that stylus system, so that it can read the styli list. I would love to hear a better way to access the styli list without the need to have the stylus system active. I honestly could not have built this program without the information that everyone else shares on this forum. This program is built based on the information that I've seen others willingly share. Everyone on this forum goes out of their way to assist everyone, and it is greatly appreciated. Having said all of that, I'm not a PCM expert. I am certain there are much better ways to have written this, and I apologize for the messy code. I am open to any and all criticism and improvements. As always, please use at your own risk.
