[Co...]
Hi all! Looking for assistance. I am trying to setup my simulation for a Contura G2 and finally made it through the SSC/PCF/RC List issues I was having and now have another question. When I auto switch to another probe, is there a way to default the position it will load into? Some pick up and load to A90B0 which is what I want but 2 of my probes are are aiming to +X and +Y after they pick up. I know this is simulation but they do the same thing physically on the G2. Any help/advice is welcome! Thanks all!
[To...]
I seem to recall if you're stylus system is set up as a standard (non-CAA), this can be fixed by opening the Probe Qualification window, change to the offending stylus system, change the rotation to the desired position, close the Probe Qualification. This sets which angle to go to when picking it up. I believe the CAA version will stay at A90B0 unless you're in a program. If in a program, it remember which angle was used last. It's been a while and I may be a little rusty. If it is the latter, you could force it to A90B0 in the last feature using a few position points and re-assigning the angles on the latter position points. Warning: Funky moves will be produced so some patience and caution is required...lol If possible, I try to plan on probing the last feature(s) with the stylus angle that I want it to rotate to when I pick it up. Not always possible. It is advisable to adjust the Approach parameters on each holder to allow adequate clearance for any unexpected stylus rotations Edited Tuesday at 03:11 PM

That seems like a glitchy pain in the butt for sure but you nailed it right on with the fix! Looks like you are keeping that WD-40 handy because there is no rust I can see! I opened the Probe Qualification and the Stylus opens to +X, I changed it to my -Z and closed the window, did a probe swap and back to it and all fixed! This has been one long morning getting the system setup but I think I am finally there! I have always been in front of a machine and never used Simulation so this was very different. This PDF from CMM Quarterly was very helpful if anyone needs it! https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/migration/images/534_53d3f027ec03e2e7cfe683eb812475bc.pdf
