[Pe...]
I was wondering if anyone had a good solution to adding physical lables onto their styli. I have XXT so all the styli generally have 5mm carbon fiber extensions. I could use the faithful label maker and print stickers but they peel and is not ideal so does anyone have anything better? The end goal is for somone with next to zero cmm experience to be able to identify which is which (e.g. I have to remote in and tell the machine to manually pick up the stylus that it is holding because it forgot for some reason). [Ma...] Posted yesterday at 08:18 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:18 AM I would use only small numbers, or if they are not in a machine, then caption holders
[Cl...] Posted yesterday at 10:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:35 AM Almost all my stylus systems have a place in the storage bay. So, I label the bay holders. I've had operators remove styli for whatever reason and put them back in the wrong bay. We all know what happens then. I'll take it a step further. I also have a spreadsheet with an inventory of all the stylus systems we have by machine. The styli system as well as the individual styli within each system are identified by their name, i.e., Star_1/1.0_Y+/2.5_X+/1.5_Z-, etc. aa well as the direction each stylus is pointing when in the rack. That way if any of them break, I know which position to screw the replacement into. I've had operators crash and break all the styli on a system. So that (along) with a picture) can come in handy. As far as individual stylus systems that are manually loaded and don't have a position in the holder. I made a labeled holder for the base plate to set in.
