[No...]
Expert question: Is there a PCM way to modify the settings of a probe qualification element (Resources > Utilities > Probing System Qualification)? Undocumented stuff welcome.
[Ch...]
Out of curiosity, what setting are you trying to change?, perhaps one tip from tensor to dy. tensor, etc ? or something else? I don't believe there is PCM to run the Stylus Qual Char or to measure a char, we can measure() a feature. If it is possible it likely involves executeCode(). I'll have a look later. Thanks,
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Everything, please. 😁 The probe name, the tips to be qualified (unless they're automatically set when the probe name gets changed) and the qualification method (tensor or "6 point requalification"). I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to write a dynamic qualification program where the operator can choose which probes to have in each rack bay and whether to fully qualify them with tensor or just requalify with 6 points. With around 60 probes but only 6 holders in the rack there's a lot of swapping involved. Right now I'm using many part based calibration programs with rack assignments. The programs contain one qualification characteristic for each probe and each qualification method plus one for the master probe. Now I'd like to write one universal program where the operator can freely choose which probes to qualify, so they can requalify a large number of probes during idle times. What I'm trying to find out is if I really need to put 120 qualification items in that program or if I can reduce it to 6 and dynamically change their settings with PCM. [Ch...]
in the meantime what I might suggest is just build lots of probe qual charactarestics, eg : 1-1 tensor, 1-1 dyanmic, 1-2 tensor, 1-2 dyanmic, and force the operator to choose mini-plans... Also there was a thread with Richard Shoemaker recently which has a similar program I believe to select probes to qualify but will not give any further options such as tensor/dynamic. [No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. That's what I'm actually doing today and will have to keep doing if I find no other solution. Not really a problem, but I wanted to make sure there is no easier way. Edited July
[Ja...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I would also like to know this. I would like to verify that the reference sphere in the probe qualification characteristic is an actual "active" reference sphere.
[Er...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Yes, that's simple. But with something like this is quite important to define exactly how it shall behave. In ALL situations. When changing configuration, also add ALL available styli? Set them all to their standard method of qualifcaton, or choose individually, everytime or once for all etc..? Add the styli default qualification sphere? Different configurations have different activ styli efter qualification? Etc... Side track, I did a generic probe qualification program a couple of years ago, that somewhat sounds like that already have the functionallity you seek. Have you tried that one?
