Does Excel install with Calypso?

I am trying to figure out how to get back to an LTSC install of Excel after someone uninstalled Microsoft office.

We had an Excel 365 LTSC license (which we have on all the other CMM's), and I am under the impression this license was part of the Calypso install.

For now, we can only view an Excel file that is created by Calypso because, my license is gone.

Any information on this is appreciated.

Hi Richard,

there is no Excel or MS Office installation or license coming with CALYPSO, however you need Excel/Office to create the excel reports.

Sorry but i have no idea how that could happen, maybe some company policy through the domain ?!

Best Regards

Marcel

You definitely need MS Excel to use the built in Excel output option in CALYPSO.

But you do not need it if you output Excel using PiWeb if you are ever in a pinch. The Excels will differ but can be a helpful tool to know just incase. Also it is unforunately a manual option meaning a button will have to be clicked at the end of the program. Or with what ever report you have open.

Here is a link on how to set up Excel in Piweb.

Thanks for the links.

The programs involved with this project are 99% automated with PCM and Para files.

In this case, I would want the Excel files to be automated as well without a human requirement.

Now I wonder if PCM could trigger the Excel event for PiWeb?

Unfortunately there is not a way to trigger the Excel in PiWeb through PCM. At least not through my experience.

If you cannot install Excel and use the native CALYPSO Excel option for automated purposes. Your second best bet is probably to just use text/table files instead. Then use a script/pcm to pull the files into an Excel.
