Returning to the ORIGIN value on a Mitutoyo micrometer

Hi Guys,

I have a question (probably obvious to many of you).

I don't know how to change the origin value on my Mitutoyo micrometer (photo below). I'd like to change the pin to set up from 75 mm to 100 mm (the factory setting is 75 mm).

Has anyone had a similar problem?

You should place a calibrated part from package to ensure 75.0000 and hold button "ORIGIN" for a few secs.
Or if you have just clicked "ZERO/ABS" then just turn off/on or long press on that button.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

The original ORIGIN value was 75 mm (and that's the pin included in the kit with micrometer).

But what if I wanted to change it to 100 mm so I could reset the micrometer to that value? Is there a key combination that would allow me to change this value to any other value? (Of course, within the micrometer range.)

That will probably be hardcoded, or some sort of electronic component saved value from manufacturer.

I would not imagine doing this setup by hand on large scale.

If you look inside on PCB you may find a component, which could be possibly read and stored just like BIOS on pcs.
