Output XYZ coordinates of Max and Min points from straightness measurments.

I have a part which has a "flat" portion and a transition point, starts to taper up. One o the requested outputs for the program is to identify that transition dimension. The shape of this feature is essentially a circular disc, oriented parallel to the plate, and it only tapers a total of 0.051mm over a length of 24mm radially. The feature is technically a plane and a cone, but the angle is too shallow for Calypso to detect as a cone, understandably. This means I cannot just make and intersection circle.

The next best way I have of finding this transition point is to scan a radial line. I can output this as a straightness plot and it will highlight a minimum point, which happens to be this transition point, but values are not given for it. I am looking for a way to output the Y coordinate of the minimum point (Z) but cannot find a way of doing so. Any thoughts on how I can approach this? I am currently outputting the feature points and put them into excel to plot it, but if an operator is running these parts/program, that will not be an acceptable way of getting this measurement.

I think you can use keyboard - press left Ctrl button and with mouse select a desired point. With right mouse button you can edit what informations will be in ballon info.
Unfortunately, this can not be done automatically.

Or you could turn on graphical evaluation, use a CAD view - this will show deviations ona model, but you can get coordinates for min / max automatically

I haven't tried this.

Could you make a Point based on the Minimum result and another point based on the Maximum result?

Size, More: Minimum Result and Maximum Result.

Create a Minimum and Maximum result from your line and recall into separate point features.

Once they are in Point features you could extract X, Y or Z.

That's a good idea, unfortunately the Min and Max Results are Characteristics, which cannot be used to create features, as far as I am aware.

Minimum Coordinate (Construction -> Minimum Coordinate) should do the trick. Make shure, that your evaluation is set to Minimum Feature and Actual feature, then it should give you the needed coordinates.

When you scan (minimum three) more lines around the part, you can recall that Minimum Coordinates into a circle

Create a Min and Max characteristic with no tolerance, Mask and Mark them both. Use the value from those to put into a Point for each.

Or under "Construction" there is Minimum Feature and Maximum Feature.
