A and B RDSCAA angles in PCM (2025)

When entering a formula for A and B angles in a measurement strategy, what units is PCM expecting to work in?  When I enter a "1" as a formula, it evaluates to 25.4 degrees.

I get a sane number if i just divide whatever degrees I need by 25.4 but this feels like something is not right here....

For angles i would assume its radians.

I think PCM is not strictly on specific unit, but it will differ where you put it.

I feel like the unit got set to "inches" for that field on accident and im having to compensate

You can see that it is asking for a length in inches. That should not be that way. I'd report that to Zeiss.

Agree with Martin, likely radians is expected.

I recall on older version of Calypso, in result element for 'angle' the label also said "length in inches" ...

My solution has unfortunately been to calculate the correct B angle, and just divide it by 25.4 and that has been working fine.

Just needed to input metric inches into the degree field 😆

angles are not metric or inch.  the bigger issue is knowing when you're working with degrees or radians

I believe the unit is accidentally set to INCHES, which normally would be fine as long as it passes it on... but its being converted to MM internally and unavoidably.  The actual unit of entry is degrees, but i have to convert those degrees "from inches to mm" to get calypso to put the right number in there.   I guess i need metric inches not metric degrees??? :) :)

I don't have RDS head so I can not verify that, but if there is such message ( "Length in inch" ) and it works for him, then it can be like that.

But i would assume it's a bug where you place number in INCH but it acts like it's in MM.

Nowhere else for angles is used INCH or MM, just radians, which are then shown as DEG.

I wonder how much this behaviour can be changed via unit selection in program ( using MM or INCH ) aka units for PCM vs displayed unit.
