[Ri...]
I received an email for an email account and username I do not believe I have associated with this forum before. It makes me believe someone is trying to hack accounts here. The email looks like it's from Zeiss. This email states my account will be deactivated in 14 days, this is the second notice I have received. See the attached image.
[Ma...]
I would look into mail header - ideally on gmail, where you can see details of sender and so on. Also chech if link are going to on same text or it's text is "A" and href is "B" But i've never seen this one and i have two logins - on forum i am using only one and for portal i am using corporate one Edited September
[Je...]
Great catch, Rick. Yes, I definitely would avoid clicking on links inside PMs from unknown users.
[Na...]
Hi, please don't click the link (generally good advice from Please sign in to view this username. 🙂 ). Looks a bit fishy in my opinion, but I can't say for sure because there might be some automatic mailing agent. If your name is not checking out it's probably scam and there is a malicious URL behind the links... I'll check if this is legit but I guess not. Thanks for reporting and we might need to issue a warning. Nanno

[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I do not recall using "QC RIck" or "QC Rick CMM" on this forum. I do use "QC Rick" on CMMGuys forum. (Cross posted on their forum). Edited September

[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I have been a member on there for unknown number of years, can't recall them being hacked, spammed to death, yea.
[Ro...]
Hi Rick, maybe it is possible that you send me the used email addressvia PM? I will have a look in ZEISS ID if there is some, maybe historic, account related. Otherwise you can also search in the mail box if there is any registration email or something like that. The email is not very styled, but seems legit for me. Are the links what they seem to be? So is the https://id.zeiss.com hyperlink targeting to that URL? This URL is Zeiss owned (as every zeiss.com domain) and will not provide malicous content (ideally 😛 ). Best, Robin
[Ri...]
I have found out that an account was created in June of 2021, I know I did not create that account. I have used the same email on this forum for about 2 decades (And it's the current email I use today). Hopefully the account will just be deleted in the next 12 or so days by Zeiss. 100% not me.
