Constructing Plane from 2 parallel Planes

Hello,

Fairly new to Calypso.

I have 2 parallel Planes and would like to construct a Plane which will become one of my Datums. I have a STP file - CAD Model.

Thank you in advance.

Simple version.  Extract 2 planes and assign them as Feature 1 and Feature 2 in a Symmetry Construction.

If MMB/LMB is required on any GD&T characteristics, create a Symmetry Plane (Special Geometry) and use "recall the feature points from the 2 planes into the Symmetry Plane.  It's best to do this from a CAD model before there is any data in the 2 planes.  Otherwise, you will need to verify the nominal data is correct in the Symmetry Plane.

How I do it (Calypso 2018):

1. Define and probe plane(s) features on one level

2. Define and probe point(s) features on planes on other levels

3. Offset the point(s) feature(s) by nominal distances

4. Define the final plane by Recall of the Plane Feature(s) from first step and offset point(s) from third step

Pretty much of an effort
