[ja...]
we are trying to measure the tow angle of a welded axel it is supposed to be 0 +-.1 i can get the dimension but it always comes out with a positive answer. the engineers want me to show toe out as a positive dimension and toe in as a negative dimension. im at a loss if anyone can help. [Cl...]
What kind of geometry is involved?
[Na...]
Hello James, which software are you using? In Inspect I would approach this with a local coordinate system, which is defined by this angle and check the rotation. In a coordinate system the rotations are defined by the right hand rule, so the result will be signed.
[ja...]
i have a plane in the middle of two planes it does not matter how I do it, I get a positive result if both planes go out or in its still positive. Me personally i can look at it and say its towed in or out but the engineers need to see on the angle between features as a positive negative. they insist on negative toe out and positive toe in
[Ma...]
As Nanno stated - this should be reported as an angle in coordinate system. Not as an angle between features. Calypso / Inspect?

[Ri...]
As Martin stated, you would need to have an alignment for the Datum or what you want to call zero for the Angle (the reference). Then the Plane (I assume a Symmetry Plane) in the middle will need to live inside of that alignment instead of the Base Alignment. There, you will either report the A1 or A2 angle (it depends on which space axis you want the angle reported from). That will give you a ± angle, and not just an absolute. [ja...]
A1` A2 will tell me if it is positive or negative but is not the actual angle from the datum it is totally different from the actual angle. if i use results element with getActual("IntA G1").angle will that give me what i am looking for my problem is i am in Texas the parts and machine are in Missouri I'm having difficult time testing results sorry if i can not type
[Ma...]
Just make alignment from one of the features used in angle measurement. Then make copy of second feature with recalled measured points and features alignment set to this new one. Now you will have correct A1/A2.
