Micura 500-500-500: Force all probe movement to +Z and +Y.

I have always struggled with restricting clearance planes. On our two Micuras, we have minimal space for Probe and styli changes. Every part axis lays in the X axis; all probes change in the +Y axis (To and from the rack).

I want to add more clutter to the CMM, most likely a Stylus cleaner, from this I want to force all stylus changes that use -X and +X to always go over the top of the fixturing/Parts.

All of my Styli are either -Z or -X and +X.

I do not want any probe travel in the -Y axis based on the Base Alignment.

Any help is appreciated.

Screen shot of Micura setup.

There is just enough room at the Probe rack for the Sensor to pickup/Drop off probes.

Very interested in an answer to this We have some fixtures that are almost tall enough to interfere with a Y move going to the MSR. It already uses the height of the lowest rack position when returning.  I seem to remember a long long time ago , a calibration tech changed an old contura to a Z max position. but, I'm not sure how he did it. ( rack approach parameters? maybe?)

In the Approach Parameters you can set it to move +Z to a specific height before and after a stylus change.

Here I have this system going up 300mm in +Z before it stores and also after it loads. This clears any fixtured parts we have and avoids a direct line to the rack.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

Mark Distefano, I have set approach parameters, now I want the clearance plane to always be +Z when running programs.

Poor choice of words on my part, I did mean I have trouble with blocked edges. I can never seem to get it to do what I want.

I am hoping others have blocked edges to force a program to move in the +Z clearance plane all the time and could guide me on proper settings.
