How to quickly assign characteristics to multiple features?

Hi

Thanks for reading my first thread : )

I work with CAD data. Say we have fifty Cylinders, from Cylinder1 to Cylinder50. I used Extract Feature

I'd like to know True Positions of the Cylinders and not much willing to create a Position Characteristic and copy it and paste 49 copies and replace the Feature number, Cyl1 to Cyl2, Cyl1 to Cyl3 etc

Same with Planes and Space Points

Is there a way to create kind of a loop? Or Pattern Tolerance?

There are a few ways to do this, but I like the "transfer format" button. It's a bit finicky to use, but really helpful if you set things up right.

It's a really powerful tool, but it takes some getting used to. Play around with it and let me know if you need more help. Or there might be a guide floating around on this forum.

Create position characteristic for cylinder #1. Fill in tolerance and datum structure. Click ok. Select/highlight the first position characteristic. Select the transfer format or paintbrush icon. Select the 49 other cylinders (do not include original cylinder). Click ok.

FYI. If you haven’t created the additional 49 cylinders, you can follow the above steps to the point where you would select the 49 cylinders and start extracting new cylinders while the transfer format window remains open. This will create the same position characteristic every time you extract a new cylinder. When done, close the transfer format window.

Naming characteristics with unique names will be another step.
