SQL Server (SDCO) Error when copying config files

Trying to back-up/copy config files to a network drive and getting this error only on 2 of our cmms.

Does anybody know what's causing this and what's the fix?

Ask IT, or you would need to stop service of MSSql and be able to copy probe data.

Make sure CALYPSO is completely closed before you try to copy the config folder. If it is running, it will prevent it from being copied. If you’re still having trouble, try restarting your PC or stopping the SQL Server (SDCO) service. This will stop any background processes that might be holding onto the files.

Verified other cmms and have the same SQL settings but I can copy config files with no error. Only 2 machines that won't.

The one you are looking for is SQL Server (SDCO). You can stop it and restart it before starting Calypso again. On the other hand, restarting the computer might be a bit easier.

 

Sometimes, if you close Calypso, the SQL server holds onto those files even though nothing is using it. Restarting should resolve that issue and you can move the files.

I did both before looking into the SQL Sever settings, closed Calypso from running, won’t help, rebooting pc won’t help either.

Yes - just right click on the running SQL services and stop them. Move the files, then right click and start the services.

I think it needs admin account which I don't have. Options to stop, start, pause, restart, ect are all greyed out.

I usually just restart the PC and copy the files before launching Calypso. You'll still need admin credentials to copy some files.

Yes, typically you will need to run as admin to stop the service.
