license backward compatibility

When you buy a new Calypso offline license, can you only use the latest version of Calypso that it comes with, or will it also work with previous versions?

I works for older version too, sort of.

The 2024 and 2025 license files are different file types so Zeiss has been give you a 2023 license file as well last time I got new license files
