[Pe...]
Found a mildly infuriating problem. Running simulation and all the sudden all my RDS probes acquired odd values in the X, Y and Z positions. It started visually showing the stylus and head something like 6 inches off the part, but still gives good nominal feature values after simulation. I try to requalify my probe. First, it says that I cant do it because its going to shank out on the reference sphere or its at the wrong angle. Wierd because Ive been simulating the same probe for years. So I grab the master probe, set the reference sphere location, then try again and it works. But now I have completely different XYZ values that dont make any sense. I hit requalify again, it does its 12 angles, and then a completely different result: Same probe 3 times in a row. Not entirely arbitrary because 5.232 seems to be repeating in various places. Any thoughts?
[Ri...]
Show screen shots of the stylus geometry from the Stylus Management dialog box for each stylus.

If I hit the qualify stylus button, then all the numbers change. Edit: I do have a work around for now. If I delete all the rds systems from the management, and reimport the ssc file, the fresh probe work. But if I hit the qualify then the problem comes back. Also it didnt affect any of the fixed 5 point stars, only rds probes. Edited October 2, 2025
[Ri...]
What does your RDSCAA MasterProbe information show? This is mine for a standard RDSCAA MasterProbe and TL3 Sensor. Also shown is my MasterProbe after qualification for Planner.
[Pe...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Looks pretty simular to yours. The master probe I use looks a bit different since it is not qualified as an RDSCAA. I wasnt actually aware that you could do that even - Is there a reason/benefit to it? [Ri...]
I do not know if there is a benefit. When I imported it, I selected RDS CAA. What I do notice is your X and Z are both 0.0000.
